Kheerganga Trek

Wish to go till the end of Parvati Valley? It is possible! Kheerganga trek is the most famous thing to do. Once you reach the destination, it is a sight for sore eyes. There is a small Shiva temple with a hot spring. Dip into the bathing tank and take blessings from Lord Shiva.

The entire route is beautiful and you will get to see snow-capped mountains around you. The best time to go for a trek is May-June and September-October.

The route covers 24 km both sides. The starting point of the trek will be Barshaini, confluence point of Parvati and Tosh rivers.

Kasol Riverside Camping

Tour Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive Kasol drive to Barshaini and trek start to Rudra Nag – Kheerganga (12 Kms trek)

Morning pickup from Kasol and drive to Barshaini a small town located at the point of confluence, Parvati, and Tosh rivers. Reporting time is morning 10:00 Am

With the expert trekking guide, trek start to Kheerganga from here.  The total distance of the trek is 12kms and the approximate time to cover is 5 to 6 hours.

Trek rout to Kheerganga is easy to moderate level. Starting it covers the plan area along with Parvati river, beautiful apple orchids, and after some time serpents shaped waterfalls steep heights and dense forest of Deodar and Oak trees.

Upon arrival at the top, check-in pre-booked camps in the green meadow of Kheer Ganga. Have masala tea with hot Pakoras and take some rest.

Take the refreshing dip in the hot water spring of the Parvati Kund, though it’s one of the main charms of the trek. Sulfur water of the spring washed way the tiredness of the trek.

Have the delicious meals of the camp. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.

 

Day 02: Explore the serenity and return back

Morning wake up with the sunrise at the campsite and explore the spectacular view of snow-covered mountains around.

Post breakfast check out from camp and return back to Barshaini.

From Barshaini drive back to Kasol. Trek ends with the sweet memories of Kasol Kheerganga trek.

QUE) How to reach Kasol?

ANS) The gorgeous hamlet can be reached easily, but it sure takes half a day. If you are traveling on a bus, the night journey is preferred. Since there is no railway station in Kasol, one has to take a train to a certain point. Additionally, there is no airport in the village. Let’s take a quick look at how you can reach the destination!

By Air: The nearest airport is in Bhuntar. You can take a flight from Delhi as it takes only 1 hour to reach Bhuntar. There are many taxi hire services, local buses and private vans that take you to Kasol. Kasol is 31 km away from Bhuntar. If you are coming from another country, you can take a flight to Delhi and then head to Bhuntar.

By Train: There is a railway station in Joginder Nagar. This is 144 km away from Kasol. You would need to take public transport after your train reaches the station. Travelers can also catch a train till Chandigarh and then hire a cab or bus till Kasol.

By Road: Take NH-3 and you will reach Kasol. You can either self-drive or take a state bus. Travelers can take a bus from Kashmiri Gate as they travel to Kasol on a daily basis. Kasol is 519 km away from Delhi. The bus/car journey will take about 13 hours from Delhi to the final destination.

ANS ) The best time to go for Kasol Kheerganga trek is from October to June. November to February is extremely chilly! If you are planning to visit Kasol during the winter season then get ready to be wrapped up in layers of clothes and sitting in the hotel room.
