Here’s a suggested itinerary for an Adi Kailash tour by road:

Tour Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival Kathgodam/ Lalkua/ Pantnagar – By Road/Train/Air – Drive to Pithoragarh

Arrive at Kathgodam/Lalkua railway station or by bus, the nearest and most feasible railway station. You can reach Pantanagar airport also. Directly pick up from there also. Drive to Pithoragarh Hill Station. Overnight stay at Pithoragarh. The journey by road may take approximately 7-8 hours.

 

Day 02: Pithoragarh to Dharchula (3 Hours)

Travel from Pithoragarh to Dharchula by road. Dharchula is the last motorable point before the trek to Adi Kailash. Check-in at a pre-booked hotel. This day, your inner line permit will be issued by the government of Uttarakhand. In the evening, you can visit the local markets of India or Nepal.

 

Day 03: Dharchula to Gunji/Nabhi Village

Continue the journey from Dharchula to Gunji, a significant point on the trekking route.

The road journey may involve shared vehicles or hired taxis.

 

Day 04: Gunji/Nabhi village to Jolingkong

Early Morning drive from Gunji/Nabhi village to Jolingkong, the Adi Kailash Peak base camp. Get closer to the sacred Adi Kailash peak. Spend the day exploring Adi Kailash and the nearby Parvati Sarovar and Gauri Kund. Participate in any religious ceremonies if applicable. Have lunch at Jolingkong, and return to Nabhi / Gunji village in the evening. Overnight stay.

 

Day 05: Gunji to Nabhidhang to See Om Parwat

 After breakfast, drive to Nabhidhag to see the breathtaking peak “Of Om Parwat.” Om Parvat is near Adi Kailash, a sacred peak associated with Lord Shiva.

 

The “Om” symbol on Om Parvat is vital for Hindu pilgrims and devotees. The sacred syllable “Om” is a central and powerful mantra in Hinduism, representing the cosmic sound and the essence of the ultimate reality.

Overnight stay at Nabhidhang.

 

Day 06: Nabhidhang to Gunji to Dharchula

Return to Dharchula from Nabhidhang via Gunji. Enjoy the return journey with different perspectives of the landscape. Overnight stay in Dharchula.

 

Day 07: Dharchula to Kathgodam (10-12 hours)

Return from Dharchula to Kathgodam by road. Evening arrives at Kathgodam. Overnight stay.

 

Day 08: Departure

Travel back to Kathgodam or your next destination.
